14/12/2007 - Go VOC free, Electrolube launched non VOC conformal coating at Productronica Electrolube launched the market’s first Non VOC Conformal Coating, NVOC, and Non VOC Machine Cleaner, NVMC, at Productronica. The new NVOC coating has been designed to meet the high performance of a solvent-based product without the use of VOCs. Successfully trialed by PVA and Nordson, NVOC has been specifically produced for application via select spray equipment and to replace solvent-based coatings with minimal changes to processing parameters. The drive to reduce VOC emissions is paramount in today’s society and with EU regulations tightening companies are becoming increasingly more aware of the effects and costs associated with high VOC containing products. Solvent-based conformal coatings have been the industry norm for many years now but are all, unfortunately, VOC emitters. Electrolube’s NVOC coating is a product the market has been waiting for. Designed to eliminate the use of VOCs, NVOC is a polyurethane based coating which reacts with atmospheric moisture to produce a tough, flexible coating. NVOC has similar processing parameters and drying times to solvent based coatings allowing for an easier change to VOC free PCB protection. NVMC, Non VOC machine cleaner, has been designed alongside NVOC to eliminate the use of solvents when flushing through equipment, preventing any coating deposits left in the machine from curing. “Productronica was an excellent platform to launch the new non-voc products. The response from the visitors was outstanding; it was a truly successful show for Electrolube which has left us with an outstanding number of leads to follow up now the show is over” Ron Jakeman, Managing Director. Electrolube also introduced two innovative new products at Productronica. Resin Stop is a new coating created using fluoropolymer technology and PCS a new peelable coating mask designed to withstand coating and wave soldering processes. |
